Simple Saturday...

Well I'm happy to report it's been a simple Saturday... Just the way I like it!

I slept in a bit... And after my new routine of brushing my teeth, washing my face, and showering... I played around on Instagram and then headed to work. I have such a long commute now... 25 steps if I stop by the fridge for a drink. ...yes I counted and I find that entertaining! Lol!

I worked for about 3 hours and I really feel like I am getting myself in a good spot to set up myself for success.

After a dance session in the kitchen with Dwan to a random Vince Gill song on... I headed out for the day! I had decided weeks ago I was going to go to the Reading Market at Foxing Books today... Alone! That's kind of important as I'm on this rediscover journey it seems to figure out just who Chrissie is... The Chrissie who isn't a caregiver, wife, mom, daughter, sister, niece, or friend! And part of the rediscover is to go out and about alone! So off to the market I went. I had one main goal... To find Stevee and get a journal! Now I had made a secondary goal of stopping and looking around at all the booths... But stop by one other one and actually speak with someone!

So once I managed to get a parking spot... That was a challenge because they had a great turn out! I was thrilled at that despite that meaning many more people! I headed around in search of Stevee. I found her pretty quickly and her display was too cute. Stevee is the co-owner of Foxing Books and I think we are acquaintances at best. She knows who I am and vice versa. I found the journals right away and I had a horrible time deciding which one I wanted. I just ended up having her pick one out!
I know spicy... And I LOVE it!!! I was thrilled to meet Stevee's wife as well! They seemed like such a good fit!

I did look at the other booths. I found some other things I wanted to get but decided against it. Just not things I needed at this time! But I stopped and talked to this booth called Decode Project! I originally stopped because they had this board of letters that I thought Cady would really like! I got the brochure and will look into this more once Cady gets a little more advanced. It seems really cool how they come up with all sorts of ideas to help kids learn to read.

I did walk around the actual book store but didn't have anything jump out at me. So I went ahead and headed on my way to pick up Grace. We were getting her a day early because the older kids were going to the Louisville FC gave with Matt!

Once I got Grace... I went and shopped at Family Dollar for a few little things, and then to Hobby Lobby to get the kids purple shirts.

After heading home everyone was getting ready, I did a few dishes and made my grocery list. I put the soccer tattoos on the kids faces since I don't have face painting abilities! We went outside and played for a few minutes as we waited for Matt to get there! He soon arrived and they were game bound!
Cady and I went to Kroger! She was kind of upset when we first got there. She calmed down pretty quickly and we managed to get most things on our list. And a couple of sweet treats too. I've been kind of off the rail on the weight loss front. Just a lot going on while dealing with the passing of Mom and the changing of my jobs! But Monday is the beginning of June and it's back on track!

I did feel really bad for this one gentleman at Kroger. We were waiting in the check out line and I was putting groceries on the line. He was trying to pick with Cady who was in the basket. Just to make her laugh nothing malicious or anything. So he's trying to tell her a joke and of course Cady doesn't talk. So I casually just tell him she's autistic and non verbal. Poor guy felt like he put his foot in his mouth. I didn't think anything of it just didn't want him to think she was being rude. He kept telling his wife how bad he felt...

After Cady and I dropped the groceries off at home... Dwan and I got Chinese for dinner. And I actually got to watch one of my shoes. Emily in Paris! It's not been a kid friendly show so I just choose to not watch in the living room! I ended up frogging the current shawl I've been working on and starting over. Just missed one stitch in the beginning and it threw off the lines.

The kids got home shortly after that. Louisville FC didn't win but the kids and Matt seemed to have a great time! I'm really glad. They were all full of stories! And they can't wait to go to the next game with Matt. I like that he took them! We finished the night with our sweet treats and the Spurs winning a place in the NBA finals.

All in all a decently good Saturday!

💚, Chrissie! :)
